CEBYCAM-CES

CEBYCAM – CES.- is a corporation created in 1983, with legal status under private law, autonomous, non-profit, governed by its own Statute, with headquarters in the Canton of Penipe, in the province of Chimborazo, Ecuador. It was conceived to combat endemic goiter that affected in one way or another 40% of the population of Penipe. There were more than 600 cases of people affected by some degree of disability, which meant more than twice what was observed in other areas of goiter in the country. The majority did not know the origin of the disabilities and 87% of those affected were unemployed. The experience of 41 years of socioeconomic development carried out in Penipe has left successful lessons that base their actions on the philosophy of Culture and Solidarity Economy.

Objectives.-

To appropriate and disseminate an institutional management model based on Culture and Solidarity Economy, through the development of integrative and supportive processes to confront situations of poverty and exclusion.

The urgency of working on the values ​​and principles of culture and solidarity economy arises from the realization that poverty grows and deepens after so many decades of institutional interventions aimed at improving the living and production conditions of the population in poverty.

Vision.-

We have the responsibility to respond for the quality of the services. Working communities, healthy and sick, build a new reality that breaks another misunderstanding: the one that tries to adapt the disabled person to a reality of men without disabilities. The community of life, work and service, the alliance of people seeking to create a culture of solidarity, the fair and equitable economic development of society and the full enjoyment of human rights. Creating the conditions that allow them to forge their own normality, with equal opportunities.
